Sudans RSF removes 200 army officers from khartoum to Darfur war captives say

Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been misstreating war prisoners in an inhumane way and contrary to all humanitarian, local, and international laws and customs, released war captives revealed.

Nearly 30-40 captives from the regular forces died daily as a direct result of these cruel treatments, released captives in Jebel Awlia area south of Khartoum said.

These acts include torture, starving, and hard labour such as loading and offloading weapons and ammunition.

The SAF has recently retaken the Jebel Awlia area after fierce fighting with the RSF and has freed thousands of POWs.

One of the freed prisoners revealed that the RSF has taken 200 officers, affiliated to SAF and other regular forces, on their way to Darfur so as to use them as human shields against airstrikes during the trip and as labourers after reaching its destination.

All Darfur Region’s five states, to the excetion of North Darfur, are under RSF’S control.
