Sudan denounces Kenya for hosting yet another RSF conference

Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described insistence of the Kenyan government to continue in supporting the “terrorist militia” as a disregard of the United Nations and the African Union’s Peace and Security Council as well as a threat to the regional security and sovereignty of an African country.

Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Kenya for agreeing to host another conference the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) plans to organize as a follow up of the February meeting in which a plan for parallel government was announced.

Hosting of RSF’s February meeting has angered the army-led Sudan government which is in war with the RSF since April 2023.

The government considered the Kenyan move a declaration of hostility and encouragement to partition the country.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, Saturday, that reports have shown that Kenya will be hosting another conference for the terrorist militia and its allies while this militia is accelerating the genocide campaign against specific ethnic groups in Darfur. It said this was demonstrated in the RSF current attacks against Zamzam IDPs camp in al-Fashir, North Darfur, where the killing of hundreds of civilians continues unabated along with destruction of the country’s vital facilities.

The entire international community has condemned the RSF announcement of a parallel government fearing the step would refuel the ongoing war in Sudan and threaten the country’s unity and safety, the statement said.

The ministry’s statement has described the insistence of the Kenyan government to continue in supporting the “terrorist militia” as a disregard of the United Nations and the African Union’s Peace and Security Council as well as a threat to the regional security and sovereignty of an African country.
