Border tensions flare between Port Sudan and Haftar forces

It stressed that ensuring the safety government’s top priority, adding that “no voice should rise above the sound of the battle at this stage.”

The statement also labeled the Northern state as a vital strategic buffer, especially as the war enters what officials described as the “Final stages of the Battle of Dignity.” The committee positioned the state as “Sudan safety valve,” playing a critical role in defending the nation’s borders and internal cohesion.

Amid ongoing tensions, the committee warned the public against being misled by “malicious rumors” allegedly spread by the RSF. The paramilitary group was accused of disseminating false narratives to boost the morale of its troops, which the committee described as “collapsing across multiple fronts.” “These are fictitious victories,” the statement said, accusing the RSF of manufacturing propaganda to mask battlefield losses.

The committee also called on the population to remain calm and avoid actions that could manipulated by “hostile entities” or “infiltrators” aiming to sow chaos amid the already volatile security situation.

The border triangle, a sensitive and strategic area where the borders of Sudan, Libya, and Egypt converge, has long been a flashpoint. on Tuesday, the RSF claimed to seized control of the area. In response, the SAF said it had withdrawn from the triangle as part of “defensive measures to repel aggression.”

Meanwhile, forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar, commonly referred to as the Libyan National Army (LNA), denied any military entry into Sudan. In a counterstatement, the LNA claimed it had repelled an assault by a Sudanese army unit that allegedly attacked a Libyan patrol on the Libyan side of the border.
