Missiles from Iran target Israel

Iranian missiles hit Tel Aviv on Friday evening as Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Israel's deadly attacks on his country will "bring it to ruin".

Tehran said it was launching a second barrage against Israel on Friday.

"The armed forces of the Islamic Republic will inflict heavy blows upon this malevolent enemy," Khamenei said in a televised speech.

Video footage from the first Iranian strike showed smoke clouds billowing from Tel Aviv and explosions as missiles rained down on the Mediterranean coastal city.

Bright orange flashes illuminated the sky as Israeli air defence systems appeared to down some of the incoming missiles.
